Why I Run Two Audiology Brands (And Which One Is for You)

Two Brands, One Mission: Who Should Follow Which?

As my work in audiology has grown, so has my platform. You may have noticed that I share content under two different brands, @XOAudiology and @DurhamHearingCo, and each serves a distinct purpose.

Both are rooted in the same mission: advancing hearing health and strengthening our profession. But they’re designed for different audiences.

@XOAudiology – For Audiologists

If you’re an audiologist (or audiology student), this space is for you.

Through XOAudiology, I focus on:

  • Salary transparency and annual salary surveys

  • Career development and negotiation strategies

  • Professional autonomy and scope of practice

  • Industry insights and thought leadership

This platform is about empowering clinicians — helping us advocate for our worth, expand our impact, and build sustainable careers in audiology.

If you’re passionate about growing within the profession, this is where you’ll feel most at home.

@DurhamHearingCo – For the Community

Durham Hearing Co. is my consumer education platform.

Here, I share accessible, evidence-based information for:

  • Parents navigating pediatric hearing concerns

  • Adults experiencing hearing changes

  • Families supporting loved ones with hearing loss

  • Anyone wanting to better understand hearing health

Through Durham Hearing Co., I also offer:

  • Community educational lectures and workshops

  • Hearing health presentations for organizations and community groups

  • Professional blog writing and educational collaborations with aligned brands

This brand is focused on public education, prevention, and empowering people to make informed decisions about their hearing.

Why Two Brands?

Audiologists and patients need different conversations.

One platform is dedicated to strengthening the profession from the inside.
The other is focused on educating and supporting the community.

Together, they reflect the full scope of my work — clinician, educator, advocate, and lifelong learner.

If you’re an audiologist, follow @XOAudiology.
If you’re a parent, patient, or organization looking for hearing health education, follow @DurhamHearingCo.

And if you’re both? You’re welcome in both spaces.
